Disney had been acquiring products from very different industries: news, entertainment, comics, films, documentaries, live sports. Each with its own structure, navigation and technology.

The challenge was to build a system flexible enough to hold them all together. Components that could coexist, combine, turn on or off depending on the case, and always feel like part of the same thing.

What really marked me was something else: working with teams in Los Angeles, Bristol, Seattle and San Diego showed me what it means to operate at a global scale. The language barrier, the distance, the sheer size of the project: all of it together gave me a sense of what truly big looks like. Something you can't learn anywhere else.
